Carving out time for date night after you have kids can be a struggle. About a year ago we decided to schedule one date night every week, babysitter willing 🙂 I love it because it forces us to explore our city and find new and interesting places.
I picked five of our current favorite spots here in LA. If you live in the area check them out!
Firefly: We love this place mainly because its close to our house 😉 Located in the heart of Studio City, Firefly serves upscale American cuisine and offers gorgeous surroundings which includes a romantic patio dining area and roaring fireplace.
Mastros: Ok, this one has a special place in my heart because it was the very first place I worked when I moved to LA. I was a hostess and then later worked there as a singer.
Mastros is a high end chain that specializes in steak and seafood. My two favorite location are Malibu and Beverly Hills.
The Malibu location is heavier on the seafood side and sits directly on the beach, absolutely stunning views if you manage to get there before sunset. All locations have live music every night which I love. Not many restaurants offer this, and I feel like it’s such a nice touch.
The Beverly Hills location is the steakhouse, while still offering seafood of course. There isn’t much of a view but it sits in the heart of Beverly Hills near Rodeo Drive and definitely a celebrity hotspot (if you’re into that kind of thing). The food is delicious, really. And the butter cake is to die for. A must try indeed!
Eveleigh: Located in West Hollywood on iconic Sunset Blvd, this place is so beautiful. It makes my date night list for the location alone. If you get seated in the back with a view, you’ll be set. The interior decor is charming and rustic, the food is a hearty european style.
If you happen to make it there for brunch, even better. My favorite brunch dish is the “Bubble and Squeak”
Pace: I almost feel bad for mentioning this one because I feel like it’s meant to be a “secret” oops. haha. Anyway, it sits on Laurel Canyon underneath the historic Country Store. My husband educated me on this while we were living in the neighborhood a couple of years ago. Apparently, Jim Morrison from The Doors, Janis Joplin etc used to congregate here and write songs on the patio. It has a very 1960/70’s feel. Peace and Love 🙂 I loved living over there and we definitely made it to Pace at least once per week even if it was just for take out. Delicious Italian food with a darker romantic vibe. The restaurant itself is quite small making the experience feel more intimate.
Ca Del Sole: Located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Toluca Lake, this is another Italian gem. I actually end up at this place often for girl’s night as well as date night.
Beautiful outdoor dining with private cabanas as well. Romantic mood lighting and unbelievable pasta. My favorite dishes are the short rib ravioli and the bucatini.
And there you have it, now go plan your date night! 🙂
